Smarties offers a bilingual family environment, which guarantees full and rich program in Czech and English language for children from 3 up to 7 years old.

Education / Teaching methods

Children are in daily contact with both Czech teachers and native speakers.

Methodology of teaching English we use is built on the latest trends in teaching children. It is founded on a playful way, which mainly uses stories, songs, rhymes, games and other interactive elements. Educational program supports individual and non-competitive approach of learning.

Location

We are based in quite environment of Prague 4 - Braník since the end of 2011.

For children is ready renovated building with a garden that meets all hygienic requirements for facilities and operations according to Decree No. 410/2005 Coll., No. 137/2004 Coll. and No. 268/2009 Coll.

Opening hours

Smarties is open from Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 18 pm. (except National Holidays)
Education program for children begins at 9 am.

We prepare thematic afternoons and day trips and relaxing afternoons for both children and parents.

We encourage parents to work together on what is happening at school. We also welcome new ideas or active assistance in the accompanying events.

Activities

• Wednesday – every Wednesday children stretch their bodies in neighbouring gym of Basic School Thursday – cooking lessons
• Friday – Yoga and logopedics
• Visit of climbing wall – monthly
• As a new activity we have implemented is a SLEEPIN PARTY (twice a year), where children can sleep over night from Friday to Saturday in a school – always accompanied with special program. Getting very favourite :)

Kateřina Marečková owner After studying at the High school, she spent a year in Great Britain where she worked as an Au pair and gained experience with children and a learned the language. When she returned, she studied at the University and graduated at the Faculty of Education. She was missing children during her studies and decided to leave for the US as an Au-Pair again. When she returned, she started to work for the Language school Skrivanek and founded there the kindergarten that became Smarties later. Kindergarten was opened in 2008 she became its director. In autumn 2011 she joined company KinderGarten, where she became Operations Manager and Quality Manager. Since April 2013 she is a co-owner of Smarties Kindergarten, where she cares about operation and quality and padagogical work. Since her youth her personal and professional life has been connected with children. She does not consider her job as a job, but as a hobby and life. She is a mother of 2 boys.

Monika Valterová owner She works in the field of Meeting services. With children he has many years of experience as a Au-pair in the UK and conducting various sports activities. She is a mother of 3 kids. In April 2013 she became a co - owner of the kindergarten with Katka and she is in charge of the technical part.
